The Haberer Family

Haberer-Heberer-Haeberer-Heber. I have come across all of these variations of the name in my research. It appears that early immigrants used the Heberer spelling, which gradually evolved and changed to Haberer. The others appear to be a Latin interpretation, and a shortened version possibly written by a hurried priest in church records. I used below the name as I found it in the records. Spellings are interchangeable.
First Generation
Nicholas Heberer was born in Werbach Am Tauber, Baden, Germany, about 1764. He married Margreta Francesca Braun in Werbach Am Tauber, about 1785. Margreta was born about 1766. They had the following children:

Andreas Heberer was born in September, 1785 in Baden, Germany. He married Anna Eva Bach in Werbach, Germany on 6 Feb. 1810. Anna was born 1787. She was the daughter of Johann Adam Bach and Barbara Kuehlsheimer. They emigrated from Germany in 1833. Andreas died 2 June, 1851 in North Collins, NY, and was the first person buried from St. Martin's Roman Catholic Church in Langford. Andreas and Anna had the following children:

Michael Josef Haberer was born 24 July 1813 in Werbach, Baden-Wurttemburg, Germany. He married Magdalena Sucher. Lena was born in Germany in April, 1811, and died December 8, 1898 in Little Valley, NY. Michael died 23 March 1890 in Langford, NY. Both are buried in St. Martin's Cemetery in Langford. Michael and Magdalena had the following children:
Mary Haberer b. 1842. She married (unknown) Fox. There is some evidence to show she died on 5 October 1911.

Ana Maria Magdalena Heberer was born in Werbach Am Tauber, Baden, Germany 14 Mar. 1819. She married Georg Paul Sippel in Langford, NY about 1844. Georg was born in Nuremburg, Bavaria 15 Mar.1821. Ana died in Buffalo, NY 27 March 1901, and is buried in St. Mary's Cemetery, Dunkirk, NY. Georg died 26 Dec. 1879 in Dunkirk, NY. He is also buried in St. Mary's Cemetery. Ana and Georg had the following children:

John George Sippel b. 11 Sept 1849 in Collins, NY. He married Elizabeth Green in East Saginaw, MI on 3 Nov 1870. Elizabeth was born at sea on the Atlantic Ocean 24 July 1852, d. 26 Oct 1930 in Saginaw. John died 5 August, 1890 in Cincinnati, OH. Both are buried in Oakwood, Saginaw, MI.

Maria Ana Catharina Sippel b. 7 April 1853 in Collins, NY. She married Frank L. Anderson in Dunkirk, NY. Frank was born in Buffalo, NY 1847. Maria died in Buffalo, NY. Frank died 9 July 1901 in Ohio. He is buried in Buffalo, NY.

Georg Martin Heberer was born 13 July 1828 in Werbach, Germany. He married Mary A. Demerle. Mary was born in March, 1831, the daughter of Jacob Demerle and Maria Eva Freyermuth. She died in 1913. Georg died in 1875. Both are buried in St. Martin's Cemetery in Langford, NY. They had the following children:

Andrew Joseph Haberer b. 1 July 1873.
Sylvester Haberer was born 16 Mar. 1831 in Werbach, Germany. He immigrated to America in 1833, and settled in Langford, NY. He married Emily Gamel 7 November 1854 in St. Martin's Church, Langford, NY. Emily was born 1 January 1837, the daughter of Franz Gamel and Anna Maria Schwartz. Sylvester died 7 Mar 1913, Emily died 10 March 1913in Hamburg, NY. A joint funeral service was held for them, and they are buried in a single grave at SS Peter and Paul Cemetery in Hamburg, NY. Sylvester and Emily had the following children:

Philip was born in Germany in September, 1846, the son of Jacob Hiery and Maria Tarrit. Lena died in 1917, Philip died in 1929. Both are buried in St. Mary's Cemetery in New Oregon, NY. Catherine died in Solomon, KS 24 Aug. 1915, where she is buried in Mt. Calvary Cemetery. Catherine and Andrew had the following children:

Adolf Sippel. He married Caroline Ruffing on 22 October 1895 in Sacred Heart Church, Dunkirk, NY. She was the daughter of Petri Ruffing and Emelia Gaukel.

John George Haberer was born in March, 1851. He married Julia Barbara Kohn 3 February 1874 in St. Martin's Church, Langford, NY. Julia was born about 14 March 1854, the daughter of Mathias J. Kohn and Julia Gaeck. (Julia married second John Falk 8 December 1912.) She died in 1914. John died in 1909. Both are buried in Holy Spirit Cemetery in North Collins, NY. Lawrence Edward Haberer b. 18 September 1897. He married Anna Mary Meyers 15 June 1928 in Sacred Heart Church, Dunkirk, NY. Anna was born in 1899, and died in 1979, the daughter of Nicholas Meyers and Elizabeth Delosch. Lawrence died in 1973. Both are buried in St. Martin's Cemetery, Langford, NY.
Raymond Jacob Haberer b. 23 June 1899. He married Gertrude Emma Mayer 6 February 1923. Gertrude was born 14 November 1902, the daughter of Frank Mayer and Gertrude Wegner. She died April, 1977. Raymond died in October, 1964. Both are buried in Holy Spirit Cemetery, North Collins, NY.

Martin J. Haberer was born 9 August 1855. He was a ship captain on the Great Lakes. He married Minnie Michels in Dunkirk, NY 16 Jan. 1889. Minnie (also known as Mamie to her family) was the daughter of John Michels and Mary Flesch. She was born 1 Aug. 1866, and died 18 Dec. 1950. Martin died in 1918. Both are buried in United German & French Cemetery, Cheektowaga, NY. Martin and Mamie had the following children:

Peter Heary was born in Springville, NY in February, 1872. He married Emma (Unknown). Emma was born in March, 1877. They had the following child:

Frank Philip J. Heary was born 4 Feb 1879. He married twice. He married Catherine M. Mayer, who was born 9 April 1882, the daughter of Frank Mayer and Gertrude Wegner. She died 28 March, 1907. He then married Mary M. Pfeffer, on 19 January, 1909, in St. Aloysius Church, Springville, NY. Mary was born October 9, 1884, the daughter of Lawrence Pfeffer and Maria Kilger. She died in 1965 in Lawtons, NY. Frank died in October, 1962 in Lackawanna, NY. All are buried in St. Mary's Cemetery in New Oregon, NY.

Howard Heary b. 31 August 1911. He married Agnes (Unknown). Agnes was born in 1912, and died in 1994. Howard died 25 September 1992. Both are buried in St. Mary's Cemetery, New Oregon, NY.
